It is possible to save 7.65% in payroll taxes, because Work and Travel participants are tax exempt from Social Security (FICA), Medicare, and Federal Unemployment taxes (FUTA). Bear in mind, however, that students (as nonresident aliens) are subject to regular federal, state, and city tax procedures.
